Kyojinten Final Exhibit Kobe 2020

The Kyojinten exhibition opened in Kobe last month and ran from July 22 until August 9th. The venue this time was in Daimaru department store so as you can imagine the scale was a bit smaller. However even with a smaller scale they were able to keep most of the exhibit intact and even add some of the newer panels that had not been on display before.

This was my first time traveling during the pandemic after the quarantine and first event so a lot had changed. The venue like pretty much everywhere now was well prepared and very organized for the safety of the staff and attendees with new norms like plastic sheet dividers, temperature checks, social distancing, alchohol stations as well as requiring masks.

I went to the venue to join the queue just an hour before opening and there was a few other people in line already waiting. On the way I saw many big ads for the exhibit which were really fun. Once the department store opened and we arrived at the exhibit floor the first group was let in and to avoid crowding numbered tickets were given to people that had arrived later.

The exhibit itself kept its basic structure and added some illustrations not shown at the previous exhibits. It started with the intro video asking you to make a choice of where to start your journey.

However, this time you could move freely between inside and outside the walls unlike the previous exhibits in Tokyo and Osaka where you would have to buy a separate ticket to see the other side. The room with the heroes relics and the big projection display was much more compact with the items placed in glass cases below their respective illustration pieces.

Instead of complete physical props for the wreckage there was cardboard representation of it. Also besides some layout and graphics on the walls the last major change was that their was no final audio room which was understandable as it is a pandemic now.

When it came to shopping it seemed like it was mostly the leftover stock and nothing unique to the Kobe exhibit which was a bit disappointing but at least you could receive a sticker exclusive to this exhibit with purchase.
